     HX subwoofers represent maximum efficiency in low frequency reproduction.

     Using innovative technology originally developed for the Mille line, working temperature of the subwoofer is drastically reduced. The goal being higher thermal dissipation, raising the resistance limit and increasing sustained power handling.
The forced ventilation cooling system channels the heat generated by the motor assembly into a vent hole positioned in the extended bottom plate, as well as eight radial venting holes directed at the voice coil itself. A complete exchange of hot air with fresh cool air is performed with each complete stroke of the cone assembly.

     The new HX series is designed to immediately satisfy those who look for a subwoofer capable of extreme output with high mechanical excursion, while still maintaining hi-fidelity acoustic reproduction.

Technical Information

     A special mix based on a polyurethane-foam blend was developed for the surrounds, ensuring stability and efficiency.

     In addition, the gasket was designed to offer two possible mounting methods, this detail too coming from the Mille line: traditional cone-out installations or a highlighted inverted installation, with the basket and motor assembly visible to all.

     Care for the details and accurate selection of materials make the HX subs an outstanding product, even in competition grade installations.

     To a professional, choosing a subwoofer always depends on its output capability: that is why a considerable amount of the HX project focused on this issue. The forced ventilation cooling system, the basket design, the extended centre pole piece, the coil materials: each single detail was optimized to reduce the working temperature and keep parameters stable.

     The cover over the bottom plate is made of rubber to improve the mechanical coupling between the basket and motor assembly, as well as to help damp any extraneous resonances. Vylepšený dizajn

Koaxy s RHFC™ technológiou
     V porovnaní s pôvodnou verziou, koaxiálne systémy majú novú črtu – popri novom elegantom prevedení bola drasticky vylepšená akustika a technika. Teraz má výškový menič novú Tetolon kupolu a patentovanú RHFC™ technológiu poskytujúcu možnosť nastaviť rozptyl a optimalizovať výkon pre akúkoľvek pozíciu pri počúvaní, dosahujúc vysoký frekvenčný rozsah.

Unikátna výhybka
     Komponentné sady zahŕňajú nové detailne navrhnuté výhybky. Výhybka už nie je len príslušenstvo – stáva sa dôležitým elementom pre pokročilý tuning a audio inštalácie. Nové výhybky zahŕňajú exkluzívny okruh nastavitelný prepínačom. Spolahlivosť a efektívnosť boli tiež zlepšené vďaka vysokokvalitným súčiastkám.

Komponentné reproduktory
     Séria Energy má precíznu kontrolu vzťahujúcu sa na zvukovú kvalitu, zaručenú použitím silného, symetrického pohonu ktorý pôsobí na membránu z lisovaného papiera v tvare V. Reproduktory sú ľahko montovateľné, keďže kôš je DIN-ový a reproduktor tak môže byť umiestnený na pôvodné – fabrické miesto.

     Obruba z prírodnej gumy zohráva dôležitú úlohu pri ochrane šasi a magnetu pred koróziou a mechanickým poškodením. EV 165L stredobasový reproduktor sa vyznačuje vysokou lineárnou výchylkou a originálnou nelisovanou papierovou membránou. Táto membrána sa vyznačuje schopnosťou dosiahnuť silný, precízny bass z predných dverí bez použitia subwofera. ET20 je revolučný výškový reproduktor s 20 mm domčekom s unikátnym dizajnom a s použitou technológiou Tetelon®, ktorý odkrýva všetky hudobné detaily.

     Pozornosť bola venovaná aj dizajnu uchytenia poskytujúc tak možnosť umiestniť výškový reproduktor aj na zle prístupné miesta. EM 100 stredobas: s jeho malou montážnou hĺbkou a malým spodkom môže byť nainštalovaný v nedosiahnuteľných miestach poskytujúc široký lineárny rozsah a veľmi vysokú účinnosť. Popri Energy komponentných sú tu taktiež k dispozícii dve výhybky: CX 200 a CX 300 – top modely v spoľahlivosti a mnohostrannosti.

Koaxiálne reproduktory
     Energy ECX koaxiály obsahujú originálne Tetolon® jemné kupolovité tweetre so vstavanou výhybkou. Patentovaná RHFC™ technológia poskytuje schopnosť orientovať výškový reproduktor k dosiahnutiu ideálneho rozptylu a frekvenčnej odozvy. ECX 690 má kupolu výškového reproduktora z Mylaru so stavanou výhybkou, ktorá dodáva maximálnu účinnosť a vysoký frekvenčný rozsah.      The Hertz R&D department, guided by their unwavering dedication and passion to acoustic reproduction has created a loudspeaker range that satisfies both emotional and physical traits in terms of listening and in-vehicle installation. The new range was born from researching public feedback along with hours and hours of in-vehicle and laboratory experimentation.

     The new Mille range introduces itself with a tweeter, a midrange, a woofer, two crossovers and four systems: a concrete answer for high-fidelity reproduction.

     Since the first version of Mille, the Hertz team established a new reference for the industry, especially in terms of technology and reliability. Today the new measurement and verification techniques used allowed a further leap forward with the new range. The mechanical vibrations were “captured” by the 3D Scanning Vibrometer, an instrument which detects critical resonances which have been improved due to the profile of the cone and to the characteristics of the materials that have been employed. Differing from traditional measurements, this instrument also allows to fine-tune the motor assemblies’ resonances right from the design stage, as it can simulate the behaviour and the distortion of the loudspeaker, without waiting for a prototype build. For example, the design for the surround of the ML 1600 woofer, already optimized thanks to the experience gained by our Hertz designers on this matter, proved to offer good performance.

     After the 3D Scanning Vibrometer analysis, more improvements were introduced and, in its latest version, shows exemplarily linearity, rigidity and frequency response.

     The other important investment regarding the components’ reliability is in the Klippel QC Certification. Each Hertz Mille loudspeaker undergoes the Klippel Quality Control System which certifies its quality, recording these measurements in a database, making it possible to create a history of the product life cycle.

The project
    In every Mille component exists the perfect synergy between the motor assembly and the surround, ensuring absolute control and thus sound quality.

     With both ML 700 and ML 1600, 70 mm (2”3/4) midrange and 165 mm (6”1/2) woofer respectively, the motor assembly is centred upon a largely sized REN® Neodymium ring, a solution ensuring control of the moving parts and very high thermal capability, all leading to the dynamic trait of the Mille range.

     The same capability is ensured in the ML 280 tweeter, also equipped with a REN® Neodymium magnetic group and optimised through FEM simulation.

Hertz Mille

     An object of exciting appreciation throughout the years, the cone maintains the proprietary V-Cone® technology, first introduced in the previous Mille range. With its solid one piece construction and ideal exponential profile, outstanding dispersion characteristics continue. The pressed-pulp cone combined with cotton fibres and enriched with impregnated water-repellent materials eases that acoustic naturalness which only a high-end component can boast.

     On the ML 700 and the ML 1600 special effort has been focused on frequency response, achieving remarkable results in terms of linearity and efficiency. The surround has been improved in terms of its profile, smoothing the differences between itself and the cone’s contour for more harmonious movement, and to the material by employing Natural Butyl Rubber, aiding the symmetry of movement and extending high frequency response.

     The spider is constructed from Nomex® and features integrated lead wires; a material with specific acoustic properties which can reflect high frequency sounds and strengthen mid-high frequency sounds, thus turning a hidden detail of the music into an indispensable element.

     The die-cast aluminium basket, with its self-supporting design helps in mechanical damping, without affecting acoustics. The butyl rubber cover protects the magnet and contributes to the reduction of unwanted resonances and residual vibrations, while adding to the component's cosmetic design.

Hertz Mille

     A unique feature of the ML 280 tweeter is the Tetolon® Fiber dome featuring a hemispheric-hyperbolic profile: its 28 mm diameter, dome height and the special profile all combine to ensure maximum stiffness and linearity providing flat, smooth frequency response beyond the audible range.

     The little one of the Mille family also takes advantage of an advanced cooling system: the radial ducts found on the back plate dissipate the heat from inside the damped resonance chamber.

     The motor assembly’s geometry is centred upon a pure copper shorting ring that generates an anti-inductive effect, flattening the speaker’s impedance. All of the components in the range employ a very light, compact CCAW (Copper Covered Aluminium Wire) voice coil: wound on aluminium former for the ML 280, and on a Kapton® former for ML 700 and ML 1600. Each combination ensures maximum power handling and the smoothest mid-high frequency response.

     The grilles, also made of precious die-cast aluminium, provide maximum acoustic transparency, mechanical reliability as well as appealing, aggressive cosmetics.

     The four systems available within the new Mille range ensure versatility and offer unheard of timbre balance. There are two stereo passive crossovers; the MLCX 2 TW is used in the dedicated two-way ML 1600 and ML 280 system known as the MLK 2 TW, while the MLCX 2 TM is designed to be used with the ML 700 and ML 280 mid/high combination, the MLK 2 TM. The three-way MLK 3 PA and MLK 3 PA2 kits offer superior performance; composed of the ML 280, ML 700 and dual or quad ML 1600 respectively. The use of this mixed Active + Passive technology, with amplifier channels dedicated to the woofers (active) and to the mid-high combination (passive), provides the ability to obtain highly impressive acoustics results, with maximum simplicity and versatility.

Hertz Mille

     MLCX 2 TW and MLCX 2 TM feature first-rate components, all mounted to an FR2 PCB with very robust traces.
The experience accumulated in the crossover design as well as in the selection of materials led the Hertz R&D team to make an unexpected choice: the woofer’s crossover section features an iron core inductor, instead of air core. The use of iron-magnetic material at such a high-saturation threshold avoided the typical sound deteriorations of traditional solutions. It also remarkably increases the system’s efficiency and damping capability, thanks to the generous reduction of the windings’ resistive loss.

     The innovative design of the crossover case combines thermal functionalities (plastic material featuring a passive cooling system), ergonomical functionalities (hidden mount system), as well as cosmetic functionalities (Rubber Touch finishing), for practical and impressive installations.

     The MLCX 2 TM and the MLCX 2 TW crossovers feature a three position level control, in 2 dB steps, for tweeter attenuation. Audison Voce

Originating directly from the experience of the outstanding Thesis line, the Voce components take the in-car listening experience to a new level of excellence. Innovative and advanced design, reference performance; the synthesis of a solid know-how employed in car audio reproduction.

The Voce project was born to make Thesis sound quality accessible to a wider, still demanding audience. The development of these components took advantage of the main innovations applied during the design of the Thesis line: drastic reduction of non-linear distortions, linearization of electric and acoustic load, control of membrane and cone back-wave reflections.

Audison Voce

     In order to achieve these goals, new materials had to be developed, new mouldings for baskets and cones had to be designed, new assembly and quality control procedures had to be prepared; a delicate work of analysis and refinement, that brought to achieving results which exceeded our own expectations, establishing a new reference for its own category.

     The development of these new loudspeakers started from the drawing of the motor assemblies as well as their delicate interaction with the voice coil assembly, to obtain a linear magnetic flux, stability of the magnet working point and of the modulation of the coil inductance.

     The result derives from an over-optimization of geometries and materials; the voice coil of all the components were made in extremely light Copper Clad Aluminium Wire, on Kapton former.
The woofer surrounds re-use the tested profile developed for the Thesis components: triple wave in butyl rubber for the surround and nomex fabric for the spider.

     The new die-cast baskets of AV 5.0, AV 6.5 and AV 12 models take inspiration from the Thesis characteristics, and thanks to a delicate optimizing action they meet the two main requirements expected from these components: linearity in acoustic load on the back of the membrane and absence of mechanical resonances in the band-pass.

     The same attention to mechanical design was devoted to the structure of the AV 1.1 tweeter; its front acoustic load is extremely linear, maximizing off-axis response; the rear damping chamber features an annular geometry, adjusting its characteristics with the needs of the membrane, also using an efficient and linear damping material, especially developed for this tweeter.

     The woofer super-light membranes are made out of treated cotton fibre and pressed-paper, with a finish ensuring control of the break-up resonances in mid-high range, while the classic Tetolon® has been employed on the tweeter, the same mixed silk and cotton texture used for the magnificent Thesis TH1.5 tweeter.

     Maximum attention has been put on thermal behaviour; for the new Voce components, a proprietary cooling system has been designed into the basket (located underneath the spider) and into the magnetic assembly. The air flow through the radial vents combined with the air flow running through the central decompression vent allows optimum working temperature of the voice coil assembly.

     The Audison Voce line offers a complete and versatile range of components. The AV 1.1 tweeter features a very light Tetolon® membrane, 28 mm Copper Clad Aluminium Wire voice coil, Neodymium magnet and annular rear damping chamber. The AV 5.0, AV 6.5 woofers and the AV 12 subwoofer feature an aluminium basket with a great aerodynamic structure, a cotton-fibre paper pressed cone with Light Damping treatment, a triple wave surround in butyl rubber and extremely light Copper Clad Aluminium Wire co ils. The core of the AV 3.0 midrange is a powerful Neodymium magnetic group: efficiency and linearity make it an irreplaceable component to achieve a fine yet dynamic mid range, while its compact size allows versatile and high-performance installations.

     The AV X5 and AV X6.5 coax speakers are the evolution of the woofers from the same line, thanks to the introduction of an excellent 1” Tetolon® dome tweeter, along with a refined dedicated crossover. The Orientable High Frequency Tuning technology also provides the ability to optimize dispersion in high range to achieve the best performance in the listening point.

     The AV CX 2W MB crossover is especially thought for the AV K5 and AV K6 two-way complete systems, shaping their acoustic response to achieve a consistent, harmonious sound in any vehicle, also offering the acoustic controls necessary to achieve the best balance according to one’s own taste.

     The bit project was born with the aim of creating a perfect acoustical environment in every vehicle, customizable for every listening position, letting you experience true mobile bliss.
     Today’s new vehicles are equipped with audio systems which offer very little, if any, upgrade opportunities. The most technologically advanced factory systems feature proprietary functions that are in most cases essential to the vehicle operation, but their sound is generally unsatisfactory.
     The bit processors are designed and developed to control every parameter of the reproduction, providing the ability to regenerate and customize the system’s sound to reproduce even the finest details.

CONTROL
The digital domain
     The unlimited calculation capability of the bit processors DSP (Digital Signal Processor) is combined with an extremely user-friendly interface. Specifically designed for audio applications, the DSP processes the signal in the digital domain: the management and control of the acoustic reproduction are further improved by the accuracy and configurability of the digital system.

bit Ten & bit Ten D - Technology
Signal processing
     bit Ten features a 32 bit, 147 MHz clock speed Cirrus Logic DSP. It is a special DSP, ensuring high integration, where the main processing functions are implemented in optimized and pre-configured blocks, providing the ability to reduce the processing resources, ensuring top level performance. The architecture is completed with 24 bit A/D and D/A converters as well as a powerful microcontroller to manage, supervise and connect the system to the PC.
     The audio signal follows a complex path, controlled by software managing the bit Ten.
     Following the conversion from analog to digital, or otherwise starting in the digital domain using one of the S/PDIF digital inputs, the bit Ten provides the ability to:
1. automatically reconstruct a linear full-bandwidth stereo signal;
2. de-equalize the frequency response, to “correct” any possible equalization present in the OEM sources. This operation can be initiated through a simple push button switch found on the device, negating the need for a PC connection;
3. provide a 31 band equalizer to contour the input frequency response;
4. reconstruct the signal, in the case that the system requires a centre channel or subwoofer when the corresponding signals are not available as input channels

     The user can configure the output mode of each channel relative to the installed system, and for each channel can:
1. be activated, de-activated or phase inverted;
2. be filtered with a Linkwitz or Butterworth crossover alignment, with adjustable slopes (6- 24 dB/Oct.), with 20 to 20,000 Hz cut-off frequencies, in Full-range, Hi-Pass, Lo-Pass and separately configurable slopes and frequencies on each side of a Band-Pass filter;
3. be contoured with 31 bands of 1/3 octave equalization, within a 20-20000 Hz , +/- 12 dB range with 128 step resolution;
4. be acoustically time aligned with the other channels with up to 15 milliseconds delay, in 0.02 ms steps, corresponding to a 510 cm virtual “movement” of the loudspeaker. The user can adjust the initial delay settings by following a guided on-screen procedure for a consistent reconstruction of the sound stage. A manual adjustment function is available for “fine tuning” of the delay;
5. adjust its output level to further tune the system’s overall response.

SOFTWARE
     For total control of the system parameters, a software to be installed on the PC is provided. Developed according to specific criteria required by the Car Audio industry, it facilitates direct access to the innumerable signal treatment functions available; providing immediate results, as well as extreme operational accuracy.
     Setting the parameters of each input single channel, setting the delays according to the listening position, adjusting crossovers and equalizers for each output channel; all of these operations can be managed by the PC.
The Windows-based (XP, Vista and 7) software can be used in Standard of Expert modes. The Standard mode guarantees straightforward and simplified system management achieving great results with little effort: a guided set-up procedure, according to the parameters assigned to the outputs, assists the user in setting up the crossovers and equalization enabling the tuning of any system in just a few “clicks”.
     With the Expert mode, the software provides the ability to freely access all the parameters for a "fully-custom" tuning experience.
     The software features a Context-sensitive Help, that the user can activate, opening in a dynamic help window displaying detailed description of its main functions.
     In addition to that, it can manage multilingual context: the user can select the language and the change will be applied to the drop-down menus as well as the Context Help messages. The number of available languages will increase: once updates are available, they will be downloadable from the Audison website.

SYSTEM UPGRADE
     The bit Ten boasts a modern and flexible platform, making it possible to stay current with technological evolution: the firmware, based upon Flash memory, can be updated at any time without having to disassemble the device from the system.
     The software enables the user to check on available on-line updates (http://update.audison.eu) guiding the user through all of the upgrade phases. In addition to that, the user can manually force the update and proceed with a safe installation which can be retrieved even in case the update fails due to external accidental causes.

BIT TEN - ARCHITECTURE
Innovative Design
     bit Ten inherits from bit one a minimal and compact design. Like with the bit one, the perfection of the design and proportions of the new processor equal the flawless layout of its internal technology, easing the installation.
     The DRC provides direct interface between the user and the device. Through an ergonomic knob, adjustments can be made rapidly and accurately. A liquid crystal back-lit display provides visual elements to the user. The compact size and the dark grey aluminium finish allow the DRC to seamlessly integrate into any dash layout; adding a touch of originality and technology.

Universal inputs
     bit Ten provides 7 signal inputs with different connection typologies: four high-level inputs, also accepting low-level pre-amplified signals; a stereo auxiliary input; a standard Remote IN and a high-level (PHONE IN) “momentary audio interrupt” input for use with devices such as cellular phone hands-free kits that provide a "Mute" function.
The bit Ten D version also features an optical digital input, selectable from the DRC, minimizing interference and degradations of the signal found in traditional analog interconnects, also by-passing the A/D conversion phases of analog signals.
     Thanks to the on-screen instructions provided by the software during the set-up, bit Ten can automatically sum multiple filtered channels (for instance, woofer plus tweeter) and then “flatten” the equalized response curve of the OEM source. It can also reconstruct a centre, rear and/or subwoofer outputs with a simple stereo input. By reading the appropriate track on the provided test disc (CD), the DSP reconstructs a full-bandwidth signal, rectifying its frequency response, providing a “full bandwidth” signal ready for further processing.

Outputs
     bit Ten provides 5 PRE OUT analog outputs. Each output channel features a 31 band equalizer, a 66 step electronic crossover with selectable Linkwitz-Riley or Butterworth alignment with selectable 6 - 24 dB adjustable slopes and digital time delay functions.
     Through the AD Link connector, bit Ten D provides the ability to increase the number of outputs channels to 8, all in a digital format. With the use of a CAT 5.S cable terminated with a shielded RJ45 connector (as used with LAN connections), the digital signal is transmitted to amplifiers equipped with this feature (such as found on the Audison Thesis TH series and/or the new Audison Voce amplifiers, coming soon).
     It is possible to use the two different output typologies (analog and digital) simultaneously for a maximum of 8 outputs total, as the software provides the ability to direct the audio signal to each output channel independently. AC Link is dedicated to the “remote control” of the system. The system is comprised of one connector for the provided DRC (Digital Remote Control) and one for the amplifiers present in the system. By connecting the AC Link output to the amplifiers, it is possible to control the volume of all 8 channels directly at the amplifier.

     Digital Remote Control permits the control of the main system without the use of a PC.
     Installed in an ergonomic position within the dashboard of the car, the user can: choose between two “tuning” configurations pre-sets created and saved using the bit Ten software; select the source from the master, auxiliary and optical digital inputs (the digital input only with the bit Ten D, which comes packaged with the DRC); adjust main system functions (volume, balance, fader and subwoofer volume); identify the proper position of the sources output level set while tuning the bit Ten as well as adjust the display brightness for ledgeability and to reduce glare during night driving.
